Urban Week 2017-08-06T10:41:53+00:00

July 2 – 7, 2017

The Bible is full of paradoxes that seem to contradict themselves. In 1 Corinthians 1:27, Paul writes, “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” The words are there to teach us a brand new perspective…the way of Jesus…a world flipped on its head! It’s a world where the small are important, the tiny are powerful and the underdog wins! Join us this summer for your BEST WEEK EVER and learn how to FLIP!

Guest Speaker: Dave Haney

Lead Pastor, Hoboken EFC

Dave is the head pastor of the Hoboken Evangelical Free Church in New Jersey. He has a heart to see lives transformed by Christ and a passion to see them live and grow in Him. Dave uses his love for sports to reach people all over the world, serving with Push the Rock Ministries and he has been involved with his local school district through CD Impact.

Dave has a powerful testimony of God’s work in his own early college years. During a two year span when Dave lost both of his parents to cancer, He also met and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a Promise Keeper’s event. Knowing Jesus allowed Dave to endure this time of devastating loss. Hearing God’s call to ministry, Dave went on to graduate from Cairn University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical Studies and his Masters of Science in Bible in 2008.

Dave shares life and ministry with his wife Becky and his two daughters, Bella, born in 2008, and Lizzie, born in 2013. He loves to spend time with his family as well as be outdoors. His favorite teams include the Duke Blue Devils, and the Penn State Nittany Lions.
