As I write this, we’re finishing week four of our Best Week Ever summer camp programs. So much planning and preparation goes into getting ready for summer and it goes by so fast. I’ve found that it is so important to be in the present and celebrate all that God is doing here at Orchard Hill!
We continue to hear great reports from parents about the impact of camp in the lives of their children. Here are just a few:
Your smiles and excitement this morning were awesome! And we loved the pool noodles as traffic flags. I hope you all are having a great first day of camp and pray the entire summer is wonderful!! Thanks for being there for our children.
This is my grandsons 1st summer and he absolutely loves it! He falls asleep before his head hits the pillow and has so much to tell me when he gets home!!
The best camp ever! I am so grateful my son is able to be a part of COH. He comes home daily and tells me what an amazing day he has had. The friends he has made, the wonderful counselors, and he loves to learn about Jesus. These are his worlds he is only 8. Praying for a successful summer!
God has assembled a fantastic team of summer staff. We are fully staffed in every department which is a tremendous answer to prayer considering the widespread shortages of workers at camps and small businesses. They are dedicated to serving the Lord by serving others with excellence and it shows in their interactions with campers. Please remember to pray for them throughout the summer as the days are long, the temperatures are warm and they expend a lot
of energy.
I am happy to report that the new Fireside Lodge is officially open for business! This new facility houses up to 48 campers and includes bathroom and showers connected to each bunk room. It is fully ADA accessible which will increase our opportunity to serve guests with physical challenges. It will be a blessing to campers for decades to come. This new facility was completed debt-free thanks to the generosity of our camp family of donors!
