Memorial Day Weekend Speaker: Ed Cole
Ed grew up in the mountains of East Tennessee and accepted Christ as Savior as a young adult. With a powerful testimony and a passion to tell others about Jesus, he committed his life to vocational ministry and received training for ministry at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
While serving Christ in two local churches and preaching in numerous churches throughout the southeast, he sensed a distinct calling to minister in New York City. In 2002, Salem Church called and asked Eddie and his wife, Jessica, to come to do an evangelistic outreach, but in between the time of the invitation and the time of the outreach, Salem found itself without a Pastor. As always, God's timing proved to be providential and since February 2003, Ed has served as Lead Pastor.
His mission in New York is to lead Salem toward being a spiritually dynamic, church planting church. In the meantime he is working toward being the best husband and dad he can be for Jessica and Madison. In the Spring of 2011, Pastor Ed received his doctorate degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Labor Day Weekend Speaker: Brent Haggerty
Brent Haggerty, Lead Pastor of Stonecrest Community Church, is known for his dynamic life application sermons.
Brent graduated from Nyack College (Nyack, NY) in 1979 and went on to get his Masters of Divinity at Alliance Theological Seminary (Nyack, NY) in 1983.
Brent spent three years as an assistant/youth pastor in Willard, Ohio. It was there that he felt God calling him and his family to Burkina Faso in West Africa. The Haggertys served as missionaries in Burkina Faso for ten years. God brought Brent and his family back to the United States to serve in 1997 when he took the senior pastor position at (then) Alliance Bible Church.
Brent and his wife Susan have three children. We know him as a passionate father, husband, friend, and man of God. He is a relational teacher with a wonderful sense of humor.
