Mission Completion!

The new office and administration building and Welcome Center is complete.  Thanks to our donors and volunteers, we were able to finish the project and save a substantial amount of money. Now we can move on to other camp improvements.

On September 4, 2009 we broke ground on our new Welcome Center and Office Building addition to the Recreation Center. On February 2, 2010, only 5 months later, we received our occupancy permit. Service Construction Company did an excellent job of completing the project on time and within budget.

The new welcome center has already proved to be a tremendous addition. It was finished just in time as we used the old office to house guests the first weekend in February. Our guests really enjoy the new lobby and registration area. Now we have adequate office space for our existing staff and room for growth. The conference room has been used to host staff meetings, a board meeting and even a township meeting. And, the Welcome Center gives us a more professional presence and is the first building you come to on the property instead of the last.

The old office building is currently undergoing a renovation. When finished it will house 20-25 guests with hotel style accommodations and private bathrooms and showers. During the summer it will be used as our health care center and to house volunteers and staff. It will be available for retreats during the spring and fall.

With help from volunteers, the camp staff painted the office building saving thousands of dollars. The total cost of the project was $211,000 well below the projected cost of $225,000. To date, $196,000 has been given towards the project leaving us with a balance of $15,000. We are trusting God to supply the rest of the funds through you, our ministry partners.

So what’s next? We hope to break ground on a new lodge before the end of 2010. The new lodge will have individual rooms with bathrooms and showers, a central meeting room, and a kitchenette and fireplace. It will help us better meet the needs of our adult guests and families while expanding housing for our most popular retreats.

Thank you for all who continue to support COH. We are blessed to serve an amazing God and you in this ministry as we see lives changed by Him and for Him!
